Maddingley Stabling Yard Vacuum Extraction System.

Maddingley Stabling Yard, Ballarat Line Upgrade (BLU)

All the major components for the Maddingley Stabling Yard, Ballarat Line Upgrade (BLU) vacuum pumping station have been installed & preliminary commissioning completed, the 30 off train extraction decant stations. have been installed on budget and on time. The train decant stations have been Installed with the Airvac 2″ vacuum interface valve DN50 (AV2000), including the AC controller.

The brief from the client was the available footprint size for the final position for the VPS was very small. So the 1-4 L/S VPS had to be designed with these specific requirements. The decant stations have been designed by Watercon in house design team to meet the specific requirements of the client. Which included the vacuum vessel size, vacuum pumps orientation to allow the VPS skid to fit into the building.  The project scope also included the design & manufacture of a specialised train adaptor connection with specific design requirements to facilitate the connection from the decant station to the train.

Watercon full scope is detailed below.
